MENTAL HEALTH IN THE WORKPLACE

Mental health and wellness is an ignored but very important part of all organisations. Mental health of employees not only affects them personally but also affects their productivity at work and hence the bottom line of the organisation. The training will provide practical knowledge, competence and confidence to identify and respond to mental health concerns within teams and take the appropriate steps needed.

STRESS MANAGEMENT

Stress has become a common topic of conversation in all social settings, whether it is at work or home. Everyone gets stressed at some point but the way one deals with it, is what makes the difference. Stress affects several aspects in one's life: one's ability to work, consequently affecting productivity; physical health; mental health; as well as personal/professional relationships. However, stress is not always a bad thing, and having stress can actually be beneficial in some way or another. The training focuses on understanding the dynamics of stress, it's causes and effective ways to manage it.
Objectives:
* Understand different theories/models of stress 
* Mapping the causes, symptoms and effects of stress 
* Evaluating stress levels and dealing with stress positively 
* Learning Stress Management techniques that help in overcoming stress

CULTURAL COMPETENCE IN THE WORKPLACE

Employees often feel paralyzed by the fear that they don’t know enough about their clients' cultures or make the mistake of disregarding it completely. This training will increase understanding of culture and cultural experiences that impacts clients. This training helps in strengthening one’s own cultural self-awareness, improve observation and the ability to acknowledge and use the client's culture effectively.

Objectives:

  1. Analyse personal biases to improve engagement strategies and build rapport with a variety of clients.

  2. Develop an understanding of impact of varying cultural group experiences to enhance empathy

  3. Learn culturally competent practices as well as importance of self disclosure.

  4. Utilize strategies to address unintentional cultural offenses towards clients to increase engagement

  5. Apply skills to overcome cultural barriers such as language, religion and different belief systems to improve outcomes
